deviantMEET Paris v.36 : Report !Hey hey hey !
Everything has an end ...Hey guyz !
As you can see yesterday was my last day as a Community Volunteer...
It was a really awesome experience, I've been able to meet so many awesome persons, to find some awesome artworks and unknow artists...
I'm really sorry for my lack of time those last months ...
I've tried to be as much as possible on deviantART to reply to comments/notes and to set daily deviations but I wasn't able to make as many journals and news as I would have love to do ...
The deviantART community is really amazing and full of awesomeness, it's a real experience itself, and I'm really proud of the being able to have this CV experience.
I would love to thanks a lot Moonbeam13 for her awesomeness and her real kindness even in hard times!
Thanks to namenotrequired for his help as my CV mentor...
I want to thanks all the deviantART community volunteers for their kindness everytime and all the fun we had together !
To all the deviantART staff for giving me the chance to enjoy this year ...

Meet the Fractal Community #10 Hey everybody !
Welcome to the tenth edition of Meet The Fractal Community !
In few words, Meet The Fractal Community is interview with an artist of our beloved fractal community.
This week let's have a closer look to lindelokse!
First of all , please introduce yourself to the community.
My name is Chiara, I'm a young architect from Italy and I'm a pathological Apophysis addict. I love art, nature, 80s music, fantasy, dogs, fat animals, action movies, and I greatly enjoy being immature.
Tell me how to call you? Do you go by your Name or an artistic pseudonym?
Either way is fine for me My nickname here comes from Tolkien's world which was one of my greatest passions as a child.
How did you discover deviantART Chiara ?
I was looking for good resources: textures, stock images, photoshop brushes, etc. Then I decided to join to thank and support the resource providers... it didn't ta
This is why you should google your artworks..Hey deviants !
I'm coming to you with this small article to make you understand why you should google your artwork...
Here's the story...
Today while eating my lunch at work, browsing the web like i'm used to do during those small 10mins of break, I found one of my artwork on a facebook link...
Strangely this was a spanish "zen" website...
the original artwork ...
So I've Google this image and find out that this exact same picture was used ... for a CD !
The CD is from Zymosis and produced by Altar Records
By searching, I've finally find the "art association" created by the "designer" itself and finally find that this exact same designer used deviantART's images to create is own "artwork" and sell them for everything ... Like a full wall print in a restaurant, CD, t shirt, flyers
International Fractal Art Symposium 2014Exciting news guys!
A fractal artist meeting is being planned for 25-27th June, 2014 to be held in San Sebastian (Spain) and you are all invited!
The venues for this 3 day event have already been booked and invitations are going out to the fractal artist worldwide. This is a chance to meet and vacation with other fractal artists while also sharing in a day of lectures to learn more about fractal artistry, the history of fractal art and the tools we use.
A few US artists got together informally a few years ago and had a terrific time meeting each other and sharing ideas. We decided that the next one needed to be in Europe so that more people could attend.
For more information, please visit Math Artistry and don't miss your chance to register.
Tips For Commission ArtistsHello! I thought of making this small guide, based from my personal experience, to give tips to artists, mostly beginners, to be more successful at selling commissions, since seeing from my previous journal many had difficulty with it. So here are some tips to help boosting your sales.
Have your commission info somewhere visible
Possibly, people won't even know you are taking commissions or if they are open if you don't put your commission info somewhere they can see. You can do this in a journal, that I mostly recommend, since it will be showing into your watcher's inboxes and most of your watchers probably rarely visit your profile page. You could still also use the commission widget, or donation poll to write your info. You can also link to your commission info in your signature or the artist's comment of new drawings you upload.
Keep it simple
Don't add too many unnecessary rules or in
Do's and don'ts for flawless interactionNot much to say about this.
Just some basic tips and tricks for flawless interaction on DeviantArt
Watch people when you honestly find them interesting.
Watch your friends, even if they don't have amazing art. It helps you stay updated with their progress.
Watch groups. They'll offer you a fine selection of art you're interested in, and will help you discover new (interesting) artists.
Check the faves of people you watch. As you like their work, you might have similar tastes in art. Checking their faves might help you find cool art.
Recommend art from people that you watch for a Daily Deviation (if good art, of course).
Uncheck all boxes when watching. There's nothing more disappointing than an empty watch.

White Knights and Why They're HarmfulThis is quite a huge/concerning topic, and I know that not all deviants share the same point of view, and I respect that. I'm sure that there are many other journals touching upon this subject, but because I personally have had very bad experiences with it, I want to inform my watchers about it myself! Hope it helps some.
So, for the past year or so I've noticed that some people saying that they specifically dislike a lot of "popular" dA artists due to the overprotective behavior of their watchers.
I personally find it very sad that people are turned off by my artwork simply because they associate my username with "[my] white knights".
There's no way I can possibly control what my fanbase does or says, and this can lead to some very awkward situations and conflicts on my end.
Don't get me wrong...I love each and every one of my watchers, in fact without you guys my artistic life would be incredibly more lackluster. I'm sure ma
5 ways to get into the creative zoneDear, deviantart fellow artists
Sometimes we tend to feel unmotivated and uninspired to do anything... but there are also those blissful moments of creativity, when inspiration strikes and time goes by unnoticed. Not getting distracted, going with the flow, so merged in the process, that there is no need to do anything else until the work gets done. But how to get in that mood more often..? Here are some ways/tips that helped me over the time.
1. Prepare your work space
Make the place you work as comfortable and useful as possible. Clean the desk from all the clutter, gather your tools in a most accessible way, organize in order to avoid mess. Set the according light, have some inspiring quotes, goals written around.
2. Avoid distractions
Turn off the internet. Or close all the tabs, you don’t need. Especially, social media sites. Don’t check the news/e-mail/mobile phone all the time. Get in the place where
Triggers, Triggers Everywhere"Trigger warning."
If you browse art on dA or Tumblr, you've probably seen these words before.
What exactly is a trigger?
Triggers come in multiple flavors.
Trauma triggersA person who has experienced a severe traumatic event—which isn't just limited to war veterans—may find that a particular sensory experience sends them back to that trauma. Although as camelopardalisinblue rightfully points out, it may not always be a full-scale flashback. Plenty of grey areas. Learn more about PTSD here.
I knew someone who had been abused in a room with fish-themed wallpaper. (Details changed to protect privacy.) So while something like the Jesus fish was tolerable because it was so abstract, they found real fish uncomfortable, and sudden exposure to a similar type of fish drawin

How to Stay Inspired and Focused on Your WritingLiterature Basics Week
Our world is so full of noise and distraction. It’s no wonder “Walden” is a classic—Thoreau had time and quiet in which to write it! And plenty of inspiration from nature.
So how do we focus, as writers, on our craft? Even if it’s our passion, sometimes it takes a lot of effort to sit down and just write—especially if we struggle with attention or hyperactivity, whether diagnosed or not.
As someone who has studied both academic writing and reading in college and graduate school, and a veteran of National Poetry Writing Month for 7 years and National Novel Writing Month for one, I can attest that intentional writing, for fun or for a grade, is not easy to focus on, especially without a good writing environment.
So what to do? Many professional writers will tell you just one simple thing: write. James Patterson said, “The trick is making writing into a daily habit. Same time. Same place. Same hot beverage of choice.

Teenage TaoismGiving birth is the closest I’d ever felt to dying.
Before that, my near death experiences had consisted only of my silent announcement of pregnancy—silent, being that my social media accounts were all deleted almost simultaneously and I never returned to school in the fall, saying without really saying that I had caught the malicious disease of “teenage pregnancy”. I’m sure the whisper spread in the hallways like the Bubonic Plague. That September, sitting at home on what would have been the first day of my senior year, I imagined friends I’d never talk to again saying “she was only seventeen, and so full of life!” at my absence in the cafeteria tables, as if they were attending my funeral instead of talking about me behind my back.
"Full of life," I had snorted then, folding a never ending stream of what had once been my own baby clothes. "Literally."
I walked around like a zombie for the months of my pregnancy, deciding t
