This week let's have a closer look to ~P3dy!
Greetings to everybody
Tell me how to call you? Do you go by your Name or an artistic pseudonym?
I prefer being called Livia, or Livi, but most of the times I listen to anything that rhymes with them
How did you discover deviantART Livia?
I was a teenager with a certain desire to become a graphic artist, and after some searching I managed to find dA, registered right away. Probably was one of the best decisions I've ever made.
What is your earliest Artistic memory ?
I was about 1 year old, and drew a puli on my mom's crossword. Didn't know it was actually a puli, because all I did was a huge black doodle, but I later reckoned that it totally looks like our dog.
About 4 years later, the only thing I could do all day was drawing, and so it became sort of a passion
How did you discover fractal? And why did you want to create some ?
I was browsing through DDs, when I saw a beaaautiful tiled Apo fractal. I thought it was hand drawn, when I was enlightened, that this is pure math. Being a math-head myself (one doesn't study engineering without a certain passion for numbers, right?) I immediately tried Apophysis, but I didn't like it, so I discovered UltraFractal, which was probably the rabbit's hole into a wonderland I'll never get bored with.
Are you empirical or academically trained?
Purely empirical.
What's your favorite tool of trades and why ?
Basically anything I've tried so far has a place in my heart, but traditional drawings, fractals, and photography became the 3 all-time love of mine.
What are your favorite kind of fractals ?
Spirals! And pretty-pretty abstracts. Usually anything that has a captivating tone, and nice textures, I'm easy to amaze.
If you have to choose only one fractal in your gallery which one would it be and why ?
Probably this one, here:
Do you have some tips for new comers in the fractal art world ?
Probably the most important is to be brave with fractals! Dare to change the params, dare to try out formulas you've never met before, dare to upload it, share it wherever you want it, and listen to those, who are more experienced. Don't ever fear to ask questions, fractal people have proved themselves to be the most helpful, friendly, and generally the kindest folks around the artist bunch - so never ever be afraid to ask, to compliment, to learn, to borrow. Fractalling is an ever changing experience, which is fueled by curiosity and bravery.
I've got one more question for you... if you were the last one standing in the world, what would be the first thing you would do ?
Sit into the middle of my favorite church, light a cigarette, and ask the Boss some serious questions. Then probably surround myself with animals, make a huge garden, invade the abandoned libraries, save the most gorgeous books from decay, and live my life until I can.
